Welcome to Tortuga

Our lodge offers unparalleled proximity to the ocean, vibrant local shops, and diverse dining options, nestled in the heart of El Tunco, El Tunco.

Tortuga was designed to provide a serene and intimate experience, featuring a limited number of rooms to ensure privacy and tranquility. After a day of surfing at La Bocana or El Sunzal—both walkable from our location—you can unwind in our oceanfront swimming pool or relax in shared terraces that offer stunning views of the surf spots.

At Tortuga Surf Lodge, we pride ourselves on creating a mellow atmosphere where you can relax under the palm trees, enjoy a hammock nap, or take a refreshing dip in the ocean. Start your day with a fresh cup of coffee while watching the sunrise over the waves, and end it with a cold Pilsener as you watch the sun go down.

Whether you’re unwinding in one of our cozy rooms or catching the sunset from the treehouse, every detail at Tortuga has been designed to honor the spirit and authenticity of the surf culture of El Salvador.

The Tortuga Family

Part of what makes Tortuga so special is the family who runs the property. Maritza, Daniel, and their two children, Daniela y Daniel (plus the resident animals, Mastul, Lola, and Pablo), have been the heart of the lodge for over 20 years—welcoming guests like family and keeping the good vibes going. Many guests return year after year, not just for the waves, but for the warmth and hospitality that make this place feel like home.
